Chicago’s Mercat A La Planxa has been recognized and awarded multiple times for its outstanding and inspiring Catalan cuisine. Next to Chicago Tribune’s Phil Vettel’s 3-star review, the latest award is given by the Esquire Magazine for “Best New Restaurant 2008”

SOLEX is proud to be purveyor of the most authentic Spanish foods for Mercat. Of course we went there to celebrate with them for the Escquire Award.

On his campaign road Barack Obama had a stop in a gourmet store in Philadephia to try someĀ  Jamon Iberico from FERMIN, La Alberca. “This is good stuff,” Obama told Sal Auriemma, owner of Claudio Specialty Foods, as he posted for pictures and tasted cheese.
